Whisps Cheese Crisps vs. Käze Cheese: A Detailed Comparison

Whisps Cheese Crisps vs. Käze Cheese

Whisps Cheese Crisps and Käze Cheese are two brands in the healthy snacks industry focusing on cheese snacks. They’re both conscious of ingredients and taste delicious, which are some of the reasons people love them.

But how do you know which cheese snack is the better choice in terms of macronutrients, taste, and price if you’re someone on the keto diet? This review will show you everything you need to know.

What are Whisps Cheese Snacks?

Whisps Cheese Crisps are crispy snacks made from real cheese. Some of their products are labeled gluten-free, lactose-free, and keto-friendly depending on the product category they belong to. Whisps Cheese Crisps are not Kosher at the moment, although they are looking into it, according to their FAQs.

Currently, Whisps Cheese Crisps features three categories: Cheese Crisps (which feature classic and other flavors), Cheese Crisps & Nut Mix (a mixture of cheese and nuts), and Cheese & Pretzel Bites (a mixture of cheese and pretzels).

For those following a keto diet, note that the pretzels in Cheese & Pretzel Bites use wheat flour, which is not a keto-friendly type of flour. However, you may still be able to fit it into your diet as long as you track the number of net carbs per serving — about 9 grams.

Whisps vs. Käze

Below, you’ll find the available flavors, taste reviews, macros, and more for both brands to help you decide.

Flavors

For comparison, we’re going to focus on Whisps Cheese Crisps and Cheese Crisps & Nut Mix versus Käze’s Classic Flavors, Flavor Fusions, and Keto Medley.

Whisps (Cheese Crisps):

  • Asiago & Pepper Jack
  • Barbeque
  • Cheddar
  • Garlic Herb
  • Hot & Spicy
  • Nacho
  • Tangy Ranch
  • Parmesan

Whisps (Cheese Crisps & Nut Mix):

  • Garlic Herb
  • Smoky Barbeque
  • Tangy Ranch

Käze (Classic Flavors and Flavor Fusions):

Käze (Keto Medley):

You’ll notice that Whisps and Käze have unique flavor offerings except for Cheddar. If you love cheddar cheese and nuts, in particular, you can choose between Whisps’ Cheese & Nut Mix (except for the Garlic Herb flavor) and all of Käze’s Keto Medley flavors.

With multiple and unique flavors to choose from, it’s hard to compare which brand does it better. Perhaps it’s best to look at what customers are actually saying in the next section.

Taste

We’ve checked out some of the reviews on Amazon:

Whisps (Cheese Crisps):

“This this time I got all 9 flavors. I love this product and again it’s great for snacks at work when am on break. I recommend this product. Love the flavors too.” — Rebecca

Käze (Classic Flavors):

“These cheese bites are pretty yummy. We got the pepper jack flavor, and the flavor reminds me a bit of cheese-it’s but maybe slightly more mild in cheese flavor (as in they don’t have the enhanced artificial cheese flavor like other cheese snacks), with a bit of added spice/kick of pepper flavor.” — Laurel

Additionally, one customer mentioned that Whisps is great on salads and as soup toppers.

The same has been said about Käze, particularly our Smoked Gouda flavor:

“The cheese bites are savory and very rich. They are delicious and crunchy but the flavor is strong, I can’t eat more than 10 on its own. However, they make great croutons for salad. It is a great replacement if you are looking to control your blood sugar.”

There are no complaints regarding an aftertaste for both brands, which is a plus.

Nutrition

If you’re looking to keep your carbs as low as possible, Käze Keto Medley has fewer carbs per serving than Whisps Cheese & Nut Mix.

When it comes to Käze Classic Flavors and Flavor Fusions, and Whisps Cheese Crisps, Käze wins too. Regardless of the flavor, Käze provides only up to 1 gram of net carbs per serving. As for Whisps, note that Tangy Ranch has 3 grams of net carbs per serving.

Are you living a sugar-free lifestyle? Käze has zero added sugars no matter which flavor you choose. Although not significant, Whisps has 1 gram of added sugar in some of their keto-friendly products.

Price

Käze’s snack size (1-1.5 oz) is available for $2.79 while the sharing size (6-7 oz) is available for $9.99. All products can be bought individually instead of multiple packs at once. Furthermore, you’ll be able to save 5% by subscribing so your products get automatically delivered to you each month.

Whereas for Whisps, products are sold in bundles at $11.97-$47.99 on Amazon. Their Cheese Crisps come in a 2.12 oz bag while their Cheese Crisps & Nuts come in a 5.75 oz bag.

That said, Käze offers more flexibility, which makes it a more affordable option for keto dieters.

Whisps vs. Käze: The Verdict

Whips and Käze offer better alternatives to traditional cheese snacks. They’re equally good in terms of flavor choices and they even have similar nutrition profiles.

For the fewest carbs per serving, go for Käze. Trying to optimize fat or protein? You may want to do some digging to decide which flavor you like from each brand that best helps with these macro goals. Snacking should not just be healthy, but also a fun and satisfying experience!
